I was thinking the same - buy new from mint at £3750, then run the gauntlet of praying for a 70 and grading fees and shipping to add on top

Only the 5 sov would really interest me long term, so would have the additional expense of the others to buy at launch

Not buying, what is the worst Ive missed out on I'm not £6.3k worse off

Most recent unique fives (memorials & coronations) are trading around £500, under this £3750 launch RRP

Maybe aim to pick up a 2025 five PF70 through the next year and be happy to pay a little over list for it say around £4000(ish) ?

Your not in any rush to get them. I really enjoy finding the c**p auctions on a wet wednesday afternoon noone knows about and grabbing a bargain. I would have saved thousands if i had done that with the last releases.

the changes to eBay and 0% sellers fees will also impact the buying market in the UK

There'll be added product in the market ongoing and folk happy to take micro profits here and there

Also we have an abundance of coin sales now these day.  Something to buy from every few weeks nowadays

Think will stick with you and just look out for the "diamonds in the rough" and buy cheap & sensible rather than with following the hype

Given that people seem not to like the red gold sovereigns, why would anyone buy the 2025 red gold proof G&D sovereign?  It seems to be good riddance but give us £895 !

I believe it will be because of the low mintage figure.

And the 2026 they'll sell at an inflated price on the grounds it's the 'first' yellow sovereign.

I believe that the 2025 rose gold sovereign will have the lowest mintage of any regular issue proof gold full sovereign since at least pre Queen Elizabeth’s reign with 2,111. The previous lowest is the 2014 with a total mintage of 4,613. To me, that makes it special and worth collecting.

2025 mintage and last rose gold

Mintage tied to year, maybe this could be like the 2017 SOTD with plain edge?

Lowest mintage of the year be most in demand ??

It certainly ticks a few boxes for desirability/collectable

To some extent I agree but with a caveat - it is only the proof that has a low mintage and there'll be a lot of bullion coins in rose gold.

Yeah, but you get what I'm trying to get across. One of these multiple choices available  will do a lot better than others

It's a skip from me

I will keep an eye on second market auctions for the coins I want to collect at a cheaper price.

If I'm wrong and these are profitable winners then I can live with not buying now.

Silver sovereign is a gimmick, it's going to be the biggest loser of the batch.

It'l be interesting to see how much they try and sell these for.. any guesses from the seasoned crew that have brought previously over-priced Proofs?

Doubt the mint is too stressed, everyone is going to be queuing up to buy these… (that is, those of you with the spare cash🤔)

I'm not sure they will.

Yes, there will be some interest, but I think there is a lot of wallet fatigue out there.

I don't think this will be a flop, but it certainly won't be a bloodbath to buy

It's just too much of a gamble.

I feel the RM peaked in 2022 with platinum jubilee and memorial. Everything after this seems disingenuous at best, opportunistic money grabbing at worse.

Can't argue with a single thing you say there BYB

I'll be happy to pick up and add one or two of these new pieces but let someone else take the initial risks and grading costs

You can expect an honest critique video from me at some point...maybe

I might just not even give any airtime to this at all.

I genuinely don't care about the mint any more, which is pretty sad considering my collection.
