I was thinking that was the case. It creeps on you very quickly. Next problem is being logged in when they do hit the "market" and beating you to it! 🤣

I've just looked and the last sovereign I bought on here was a full memorial at £445. It wasn't even that long ago ffs.

Circa £450 felt right. Paying near £500 for one plays with my brain as that 1/4oz Britannia money.

If you're stacking halves this is ideal. Pop a couple of end caps on and you can stack 3m worth of them

How long can a polypipe tube be before it snaps under the weight of the sovereigns within...

30/31 is great news, thanks!

They're only going to sit in a SD box so little risk of damage.

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

On Friday, a cutomer brought into us a large quantity of gold sovereigns for storage.

He had some of them in very long, oversized tubes. I got our photographer to take photos of one of them, which he did.

As it is Sunday, and I am WFH, I do not have access to them right now, but in any case there were some stickers and labels on them which will need redacting before we can share them pubicly.

There were not RM tubes, but were apapted from cardboard shipping tubes which had originally contained automobile components.

The customer did tell us how many coins were in each tube, but I do not recall the quantity. One of more of our staff might remember, so I will ask @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer on Monday.

Dimensions?

😎

Going by the door handle, it's at least one meter plus in length. Also looks a bit wide in diameter for sovereigns. Clanger city.

Hello 1970s

I thought that, and expected it be be for Britannias, Krugers, or other large coins, but apparently the coins (sovereigns) inside were in rolls, and the large adapted tubes (note: plural) were for easy handling and carrying.

(On the tube?)

Russian Dolls Tubes. Tubular rolls in a tube transported in the Tube. Infantile I know. I've already grabbed my coat.
