Has any other recent RM 1 oz gold proof achieved anything like the uplift that this one has? A modern classic.

This is a strong price - what do ungraded ones go for?

Nice!

I have one in PF70!

Good to see something doing well considering recent losses for me on other proof coins 🙂

Haven't seen an ungraded one sell for some time, so couldn't say.

PF70's were around the £4,000 - £4,500 mark a year or so ago.

I bought one that graded PF70 with my daughter's (11 years old at the time) money that I'd generated from buying and selling (starting from a small inheritance of £1,000).

I initially got in trouble for spending her money without permission, but she seems more relaxed about it now.

Really gutted i missed this coin in proof, i had collected all the proof 1/4 oz beasts over the years still have them, unfortunately i was not able to afford the release price at that time, i had earlier purchased the 1oz greyhound proof thinking i would make a quick flip, well that was a big fail :) even now i cant even get my money back so know how backyard feels , too late now well out of my price range, although i remember someone on here not long ago having a bullion one for sale at£1800 ish?

The bullion version of this was part of my first ever gold purchase along with a brit and an una and the lion bar. Probably still my favourite coin of all time....well that and the 3 graces.

Wouldn't pay 6 grand for a proof but I've seen worse for a lot more!

One made $10,200 in USA end of last year

There's also a 2oz gold that not many know about, came out to Mint Marque only members and very seldom appears. Mintage only 100
