Great Seals of the Realm - Henry VIII

What exactly are these things anyway??

So they are not coins.

Am not sure who is the target market for 1oz of gold costing £3,500 for some seal thingy.

Like I just said to GoldDiggerDave a pair of them are just too heavy to be repurposed into nipple clamps. 🗜️

It's the royal mint engaging in the old, "throw enough terrible at the wall and some of it will stick" business model.

Complete joke of a price for these.

I'm out, but to be fair I was never in on this

Perhaps it’s just the two bottles of £2.50 Dos Copas wine from Chile talking but it seems odd that the RM cancels the Monarchs series and then comes out with these. I did think some of the Monarchs coins hit the mark in terms of design and the series was more in keeping with the RM brand as compared to some of the other stuff I didn’t like such as Music Legends (I understand Elton John’s mug on a coffee mug but not on a coin if you’ll forgive the pun) and the Harry Potter bits and bobs.

Just bye the bye, the RM are still advertising the Monarchs coins as part of a series, without any indication that the series won't be completed. So someone could go on their site, buy three or so coins, and seek the earlier ones on the secondary market, and then still think there are more coming. 🫡 - well got to admire their audacity

Yep I called them out on this in a video that I will be publishing later today.

As I said, RM are just clueless and all they care about is padding their bonuses at the exec level.

Will be interesting to see if the recent employment tribunal they lost and the £1.7m payout they will have to make will make a dent in their bonuses.

I expect it will be swept under the rug.

I know there are some other employment tribunals pending for ex employees too, should be interesting to see how they develop.

My guess is that any potential bonuses or wage rises for the lower level employees will be put on hold... "we're all in this together" or some similar BS

They already have suspended the profit share bonus for all staff...

Except, you guessed it....

The Exec board.

Disgusting really.

Not if you happen to be a member of the exec board... ;)

I have it on gold authority that this release has been "a major flop"

I’m honestly surprised the 2oz gold has sold out. And the 1oz gold looks like it could sell out in a few days too.

I decided I’ll just wait and try to get the 1oz gold below issue price later down the line if possible. If not possible, I won’t really be sad. It’s not anything super-stellar that I’ll miss having in my collection.

The packaging is very pretty though.

I’ll just get a BUNC this week and be happy.

Don't forget that a good two thirds of their stock will be farmed out to Rare coins of America and their other trade partners.

I’ll get the cupro version just so I can wax seal my complaint letters to the royal mint! 🤣
