Gazette Proclamation - Waterloo Medal (Great Engravers 2-coin set?)

What I would really like to know is what happened to the Matt proof silver versions?

In theory 2950 matt proof 2oz and 90 10oz silver versions should have also been released on Monday?

Trade says customer exclusive, and my mint manager says Trade only, anyone know?

Just asked my Royal Mint account manager and was told “they are B2B trade exclusive items, so aren’t available at our website or mint marque”.

How does that work? Will customers get contacted by RM privately about the sale or do we hav to buy it from somewhere exclusive?

Well I should have, but I don't, these have not been offered via the trade or via mint marque, they must be somewhere?

Maybe gone overseas? Few coin releases go to USA trade partners never to be seen here again

They’ll have more when they get the Proof returns. Quick bead blast to hide the imperfections and voila, another couple of hundred quid for another mug.

Someone called Blanchard (U.S.) is advertising a 2 oz matt finish for $469.  I’m not familiar with them - turned up on an internet search.  Nothing at LPM , APMEX, etc

Always suprised by what they choose to send to thr IS as exclusives. d-day, coronation RP, the first and last auctions and now this.  Very British things .. but $$$ speaks I guess.

Aaaahhh😉

You might be right. They must have made more than the allocated proof version because the chances of them turning out good let alone problem free is less than 50% and the problem ones get a matte treatment.

The last 2 years releases of the Gold Standard have all gone to the US to a trade exclusive dealer. Pretty poor show

Some of them make a bit of sense at least. On D-Day there were more US troops than British troops landed on the beaches at Normandy.

Gutted with these again, can't seem to catch a break with any of the Great Engravers, The 5oz looks like the chariots have been rallying, and is covered in gravel rash, the picture below is not even the worst part,

lost all hope after taking that picture, and cried into my cornflakes.

The 2oz has just one annoying scratch on each side of the coin on the rim, the reverse being the worst and deepest, and each time you look at the coin, it's the first thing the light catches.

Only if you count the empire troops as seperate🤣they definitely had the harder beach’s though.

Weird here in Australia too because there were more British (and French) casualties at Gallipoli than Anzacs which almost no one realises.

Usually love matte coins but have to say I prefer the Original. Would have to see it in hand to be sure🤔

Agreed.  It would have been more interesting if the RM issued this in reverse proof than matte finish.
