In light of things like this what do we think to a tread with members ebay users and details of what they have for sale ( forum related items) ? Sort of like the traders info page. It could save some getting burnt and save the seller ebay/paypal fees

I can't speak for others, but I now only list on ebay when I get decent selling offers (reduced fees). I therefore make more from selling on eBay than I would from selling on the forum.

Thanks for sharing @Bullionbilly I prefer to buy coins and tend to stay away from bars anyway, it just goes to show that these are easily copied

To all new collectors - the best way to educate yourselves on real bars is to go to a bullion shop, let them know you are new to collecting/investing etc. and ask to see and hold a real 1 ounce bar.  

The majority of all fake bars are thicker than real bars.  I posted a thread on fake pamp bars with pictures a few months ago.

I remember when I was new to collecting, I was in the duty free section at Dubai airport and I was looking at all the gold coins/ bars, they got a 1oz bar out for me and tried to sell me it, I had a good hold of it and I was well impressed, I wanted to have a look at the 1kg bar but they wouldn't let me lol
