Does this Mexican Gold Coin Look Real?

Recommended Posts

I am being sold this Mexican 2.5 Peso gold coin for about $120 in U.S. Dollars (I am in Colombia). It is .900 purity and has 0.0603 troy oz. of gold.

My guess is that is is probably in circulated condition.

Does the coin look real and would it be a good deal to buy this coin? Unfortunetely, it is hard to find gold coins here in Colombia or they have huge premiums, but I did find this one at a local pawn shop.

Thanks for any help!

The seller sent a picture of the coin on a scale. It says 0.05 oz on the scale (not sure if regular ounces or troy ounces), but the weight conversion from 0.05 ounces does not add up when I convert it. The total weight of the coin should be 2.08 grams.
0.05 ounces = 1.4 grams
0.05 troy ounces = 1.5 grams

Is it normal for the coin to lose some heaviness/weight with time?
