The demand for silver and the deficit in mined supply is not going away anytime soon. I keep buying, plod, plod, plod buying. 

i have been swapping out of gold into silver on Kinesis for quite a while, putting in swop orders and waiting for them to trigger.

Whats causing all these drops as platinum has also had a dump? 
Options expiry is next week and my guess is a lot of people have FOMO'd into metals.

I suspect that if I offered a 1oz Brit to a random Brit on the street, they wouldn't even want to pay the face value of £100 and would have no idea of its value.

 

Apologies to quoting myself, but I've just done a pub quiz and the thought above inspired me to include a round on coinage & money. One Q I showed a 10p coin, a 1918 Shilling, and a Gold Sov - all similar in size. I gave a little pre-able and asked teams to guess the value of the silver content and gold content in the shilling & sov. The teams were in the right ballpark-ish for the Shilling (worth about £4), but out of 5 teams with about 15-20 people playing, the winning team (ie closest/highest) guessed that the gold in the Sov was worth £25. Everyone else guessed lower 😵

 

I assumed most would guess lower, but I genuinely thought everyone was pulling my leg with the numbers I got.  I'm still amazed how few people know the value of gold, and how divorced from 'money' gold must be in people's minds. One team guessed £9. I kid you not.
