I have dealt with music memorabilia for over 30 years, and sold loads of queen collectors items, some have deep pockets, top 10 of collectibles bands. I could give you 100+ queen items that could sell for £100+.  Gold will be too rich for most collectors,my hunch is the silver proof will sell out super quick as it's realistic price for a music fan to afford. Brian may minted a trade mark sixpence in 1993 for back to the light tour, was fiver at the gig, it's 100 to 150 now a queen fan would happily pay. Queen have worldwide following have conventions, fan club meets. PS I think the coin is awful by the way

Wow... this will be something else, indeed. Looks like another Una-type coin offering, which will be very exclusive. I might dip my toes in that 2oz, if it would be possible to get one... 500 is very low mintage.

PS: I'm not a Queen fan at all. but I'd go for an exclusive coin.

Yes I think I will try for the 2oz silver when it’s released.

5oz silver with gilding?

Only one of the bunch worth looking at imo, the gold highlights actually work.

edit: ah that's the one ounce, nice but high mintage and price.

Why/how did Brian May mint sixpences?

So a musical legends series! Surely the Beatles, Pink Floyd , maybe Bowie, who else - U2? The Stones would be a bit dodgy as Their Satanic Majesties and there's quite a few that they'd have to be careful on and could send the series down the Gary Glitter.

Brian May uses a penny as a guitar pick hence why the Royal Mint probably let him do his own coin.

He still uses them to this day, he just goes to the mint and buys up all the sixpences 👍
