I remember passing at £309, waiting for the return to £289

£366 when i started and felt like I had made a silly purchase as they lingered around it for ages.

£471 a best value sov, not sure I'm ready for those maths.

Even BBP looks like a good deal now.

I needed some funds for a property when the sovereigns were about the £240 mark. I sold quite a few to a collector. After the deal was done we had a quick chat about the price of gold and where we thought it was going. Then he dropped "When I started buying gold it was a little over £200 an ounce. It's mad that I'm now paying over that for a sovereign."

So you sold a boatload at £240 each and are now buying them back between £450-£3500? We can no longer be friends unfortunately.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Are sub £450 sovereigns a thing of the past now?

I think so. It’s going to break £500+ sooner then later. My hunch is by mid 2025 they’ll be over 500. Buy, stack and hold.

Many will probably switch to even more smaller fractional gold coins.

£1,937 now!

Fortunately I've managed to keep the £ cost average for a full to £417.88 and my half's are £191.63.

I must admit I'm quite happy with this as most of the recent purchases have been a 0Vmw8= where the premium on spot has been concerned.
