🤔😮if they are millionaires who can leave the country quite happily how much tax do you think they are really paying?🤔🤔not too much…

Their small is large for the rest. The top 1% pay 33% of the UK tax take. If they emigrate that leaves the rest having to pay 50% more in taxes just to fill that hole. Millionaires are common nowadays, even £10 million is relatively small/outside of that category, but assuming £10 million average you're looking at less than a 5% taxation rate average being paid to fill/overflow that 33% of total tax take bucket. Target that 1% and they will/are leaving, a vote for Labour is a vote for you to pay at least 50% more in taxes one way or another, but cleverly disguised/worded so that MP's can continue to not answer direct questions. Of course recipient countries love the UK exporting that 1%, our loss is their gain (better able to reduce their own citizens taxes/spend more).

LT/KK aimed to double up or more that number, which would have meant the rest having their tax bill halved or more. The Bank of England however (forcibly) voted them out. So here we are now or the verge of everyone having to pay at least twice as much in taxes as before (under Labour), albeit indirectly one way or another. It's what the majority are apparently voting for (where Labour consider the 'average' worker as being someone who lives in social housing and has no savings). Yes the rich will be taxed more, where their definition of 'rich' is anyone who is aspiring to or actually owns their own home, or who has any savings.

I'm from Aldershot. It's a coin toss if it's better nowadays with no shops or back in the day with the squaddies.

Squaddies definitely, they policed the place at least, when they moved out it really went downhill and the junkies took over…

Central bankers are politicians disguised as economists or bankers. They’re either incompetent or liars. So, either way, you’re never going to get a valid answer.” - Peter Schiff

Sound money is not a guarantee of a free society, but a free society is impossible without sound money. We are currently a society enslaved by debt.

Gold 1833.  Quite relaxed at the moment...

But looks like the bookies think that Biden ain't gonna be the next nominee for president.  His odds have gone from about 1.2 (1/5 on) a few days ago, all the way up to 2 (even odds) right now.  His odds are still lengthening.  Meanwhile, Kamala has gone from 12 (11/1) this afternoon all the way down to sub 4 (3/1).  Are they getting ready to 25th Biden?  The betting seems to indicate that it's going to change.  Captain Jill obviously wants four more years, but I think the US public are not too happy about a zombie in the white house no matter which political persuasion.

EDIT  So Biden and Harris now have the same odds of securing the nomination at 2.9 each.  Seems incredible given that he hasn't quit yet and appears to be firmly dug in like a tick.  Either he of JB have no intention of giving up the power and influence.  CNN seems to be running an interesting game where they are still on the side of the Dems, but have changed from running top cover air support for this president to launching friendly fire on him.  He's a fool if he thinks he can survive that.  Their articles manage to be written in such a way that they appear supportive by towing the party line that lots of money has been raised after the zombie debate (I don't believe a third of all the money he raised came after that debate), while simultaneously repeating how bad his situation is and doing their best to repeatedly draw attention to it.  There is a certain amount of schadenfreude to be enjoyed while watching CNN skewering their own man.

Maybe another day or two to get this guy to resign and then perhaps gold will make a move at the thought of a Harris presidency?  Below is an example of regime lies supposedly helping but written in a way to remind everyone that there is a very real crisis going on.  It's like a form of malicious compliance.
