Why pay more than bullion price, if scratched though?

Still a limited number (under 10k) available with that portrait. The bullion coin for the year is a different design so I guess if you want one of these ‘cheap’ compared to the rest of the proof coins for this year then it at least offers a route in for some

A 70 in this coin is 900-1000

If someone is looking for 1989 sov, this looks like a decent price and one bid might get it.  Do not know if this chap is a member of the forum, but could be as he shows his name in his photos.

Why is this sovereign coin so expensive? It is 3 times the price of a special year sovereign?

Considered one of the nicest modern sovereigns, ironically they practically couldn't give them away when first released.

Other special releases 2002/2005/2017 are in excess of £1000-£1200 depending on grade also. The 2022 platinum jubilee and memorial will catch up to those prices in a few years too.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

They have another set for the same price, but in MS 69. Probably still worth it!

1g of gold is at the moment £49.31, buying this set, it works out at only £50.84. A complete bargain. Can not understand members paying £55+g for ungraded bars when they can get this for so much cheaper. The purpose of a stacker is to buy as cheap as possible.
