Isn't "brilliant uncirculated" with a "matt finish" a contradiction in terms?

Keep a eye out for the uk sales its gunna be on here soon. Ps the coin connection is very good they check the coins and are a bit cheaper

That 20,000 seems a bit high for me....and with a more than £125 premium to the spot price, I am not that in love with it even if a matt hasn’t been produced in a while...what do others think ?

I think if you are a sovereign collector, then because of the matt finish, it will be a "must have".  If you are a flipper then, because of the 20,000 mintage,  there may not be much in it for you.

The matte finish looks far nice than the bullion issues. I’m tempted but then you can buy a pre-decimal far cheaper than this. Admittedly those are not BU. Wait and see for me too, hmmmm..

The question is - if you are a collector with patience, will you get it cheaper on the secondary market?

I think there’s a chance that you will with this one, but who knows.

I am not a flipper so I can wait to see if these are overpriced. 20,000 is not going to get snapped up quickly in my opinion, although I could be wrong of course. The site allows a maximum of 5 so if that gets removed, then there is a good chance they are not selling as much as they would like.

Just appeared on the rm website. Mintage of 20000 (in that presentation). Any thoughts about this anyone?

I think if the mintage was around 5,000 I would have jumped in but at 20,000 I can monitor. It will take people a few days to digest this one as it has come as a bit of a surprise.

They should all be like this and a lot, lot cheaper. Typical RM extracting every last pound of profit out of the poor, unfortunate collector.

They won't sell all of these which is a shame as there would be loads on the secondary market in years to come at normal bullion sov prices.

Yes, that was my initial feeling when I saw it....20,000 is a big mintage for such a coin....unlikely to sell all of them at that premium.
