That 20,000 seems a bit high for me....and with a more than £100 premium to the spot price, I am not that in love with it even if a matt hasn’t been produced in a while...what do others think ?

I think if you are a sovereign collector, then because of the matt finish, it will be a "must have".  If you are a flipper then, because of the 20,000 mintage,  there may not be much in it for you.

The question is - if you are a collector with patience, will you get it cheaper on the secondary market?

I think there’s a chance that you will with this one, but who knows.

I am not a flipper so I can wait to see if these are overpriced. 20,000 is not going to get snapped up quickly in my opinion, although I could be wrong of course. The site allows a maximum of 5 so if that gets removed, then there is a good chance they are not selling as much as they would like.

I wish they would make the bullion version look like this and do away with those horrible shiny things.

you read my mind😀

They should all be like this and a lot, lot cheaper. Typical RM extracting every last pound of profit out of the poor, unfortunate collector.

I think if the mintage was around 5,000 I would have jumped in but at 20,000 I can monitor. It will take people a few days to digest this one as it has come as a bit of a surprise.

They won't sell all of these which is a shame as there would be loads on the secondary market in years to come at normal bullion sov prices.
