I have always been so disappointed at how few guys are interested in using collecting as a way to create capital. Here is my perspective on youtube.. What do you think? Why are 5m guys wanting to watch a Lambo and make others rich but cant divert £100 of income from expenditure to wealth building each month little and often?

In this day and age no one wants slow and steady e.g. saving for an item or slow wealth accumulation.

In these days of cheap credit everyone wants instant gratification, probably why crypto is hot at the moment, so many expect to buy a bitcoin and hodl for a year and wake up a millionaire with no effort or work involved.

Precious metals require patience and a longer term plan.

Good lord yes, remember saving for an item?!

Paper rounds, Saturday jobs, taking back the Corona bottles. It took a while to get it, but once you had it you cherished it!

Then full time employment: overtime, Sat mornings, working your holidays. Sandwiches for lunch and fish and chips on a Friday.

Buying a house: beans.

Getting married: cooked beans. On toast.

Everything comes to he who saves 😊

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

Why do people watch sex videos instead of videos about numismatics?

Well I don't know if you've ever tried knocking one out to a 1893 veiled head, but it doesn't really do it for me... 😛

Good video though numistacker!

I spend my money on women and gold, sometimes on gold for women 😄

Honestly - discipline, patience and focus need to be learned and do not come as a standard. Not within certain social layers and especially not these days. It is all 'about me', instant gratification, "buy today, pay in 14 days" - the largest economy on earth is based on debt. Add to that the seduction of seemingly effortless crime, fed by Gangster Rap, corporate level scamming and government corruption.

I did social work and worked with social problem cases and migrants and refugees. I learned that an inherited mindset is hard to overcome. I saw people go back to petty (and not so petty) crimes when seeing the meager wages they would get on honest work, and I saw people leaving Germany again when looking at their tax statements and moving towards supposed greener pastures.

Upbringing and inherited mindset are difficult to combat especially when economy is based on debt and society is keyed to that.

So people will rather watch and dream than work and gain. Especially when hearing the promise of being able to get everything quickly everywhere.

It's an easy seduction if you haven't had it before - whatever wealth badge most entices you, I mean.

I have never had a 'nice' car and my car does everything I need, and I like value for money and hate ostentation... and yet there are days where I seriously consider selling my gold and getting one of those 'badges' - a premium car of some kind. I mean, what if I never get the chance again in later life? What if, what if. On a sleepless night once I even planned it out and researched what models would suit me best, justifying it by getting better fuel economy despite a much bigger engine because the car is newer and more sophisticated. I would only buy second hand so that I wouldn't get into debt to have this new badge. I would save up for a year to get the best I could afford combined with the sale of my gold...

But then I think that the novelty will wear off and I'm worrying about someone keying or denting the car or a big repair bill for a new supercharger or something. No one letting you out of a side road. All the boring practicalities considered by this boring, practical man.

I'll carry on saving for now until my car gets a big repair bill or someone goes into the back of it, then I'll think about what to get next and how shiny that badge will be.

In the meantime I'll stick to little silver and gold badges squirreled away where only I can see them.

You never know what's around the corner though, my father died in his early 40's + my mother had a severe stroke in her 50's leaving her in a wheel chair and unable to talk so it doesnt always make sense putting everything away for when your older because you may not get there or be in a fit state to enjoy it.

OTOH these unfortunate cases demonstrate how important it is to have something set aside for when you do encounter health issues later in life. The stats on prescription drugs don't lie - most people are not in good health and it gets worse as you get older. I take both pretty seriously..
