Any Advice on collecting British milled coins?

Hi and welcome.

I haven't been collecting recently but i use three guides to get a rough idea of value.  They can vary quite a bit so I go with a rough average/majority view.

I use Spink, Stamp and Rotographic price guides.

Rotographic also do 'Grading British Coins' which I found very useful.

I probably have a load of doubles floating around, save you trawling through e-bay.

Cheers

Mick

Hi.

I've recently started collecting coins from George i to George v and it seems a massive job.

If anyone could give me some advice that would be great.

Thanks 😃

you have a lot of research to do😊

there isn't a short cut, if you try you will be missing out a lot of the fun of collecting coins. the topic is huge and the best you can do is start reading everything you can find in books, on forums and websites.

get a Spink catalogue, an older one will do and get an idea of the range of coins, rarity and relative prices. If you want an idea of current retail values, buy the 2019 edition, it's out now.

then you will need to get on the subject of grading, which has a massive effect of the value and rarity of coins.

good luck and enjoy.
