Well done Mick...I’m back on the fags enthusiastically after my shares tanked in Summer...any excuse will do for an addict...

I stopped for 15 years (with the odd blip), my first night in Falklands for a bet.  Drifted back into it , thinking I could get away with the occasional cigar and smoked for about four years but not a puff now for over 15.  Stopped gambling at the same time, really (really) get into gambling but am totally bad at it so best avoided, must be something about flashing lights or the thrill of the chase, I just wouldn't stop.  Now I'm OTT about silver but at least I can leave it to my kids.

My partner is a smoking cessation nurse 👍  But how can i get through to her that 14 units for a man is not a weekly limit but a daily target?  Suggestions welcome, she does seem to be swayed by Beatrix Potter and Paddington Bear 50 pences.

Cheese and onion sandwiches, drizzled with Worcestershire Sauce.

She'll soon understand the need to 'wash it down' :D

She actually really likes her beer but is infuriatingly careful with units.  Can't complain though, since I stopped smoking and gambling, I don't bother wit pubs much but t's nice to go for a drink with her (as long as she doesn't look at my intake too carefully, thankfully she's not fantastic with numbers and hasn't really sussed how to check out the recycling bin which is a bit of a give away)

So how much are 20 fags now?

About £13 from a petrol station in Worcester last week!  I only "socially smoke" a couple of times a year now on the odd occasion I go out.  I spent last week on a canal boat with some mates and we were shocked when we bought a couple of packs for the week.

Packs of 10 are illegal now, to try and stop kids buying them, all brands are the same grey colour with just the name and covered in pictures of dead people and various nasty effects of smoking related diseases!
