i agree - look at the left hand holding the sword. There is no grip to speak of, she could not control the sword. The right arm at the point where it disappears behind the shield is too wide. i think it is very average. i wouldn't spend money on this.

Plus she looks scared, like she is about to get her a$$ whooped by the Britannia...

Let’s face it, the EU won’t have a bullion coin when we leave them in 6 months and take our Britannia with us. 😜

So is this their poor attempt to have there own Bullion Britannia when we leave?

if it is, you’d have thought they would have come up with their own ideas instead of a poor 2nd rate imitation of our lovely Brit.

But then again they do say imitation is the highest form of flattery, don’t they.

So come on guys, let’s hear it.........what do you think they should have really put on the face of this new EU Britannia copy?

He Ha Austria’s 🇦🇹 not really in the EU either is it 😜 they just have a clever set of complicated rules to make the EU think they are a member.

All EU members have some rules that apply to them

They are an EU member state since 1995

Ha Ha so we’re we.....😜 things change all the time, wonder what the map will look like in 10yrs from now, nobody really knows.

But back to the Germania, Wonder why they chose to copy not innovate?

Oh you mean so were we (I genuinely didn't get it, not trying to be an ass)

Of course things change, water is wet too

Dude, 'they' are just a mint trying to make a buck with marketing

No just curious as to why with all the thousands of things you could put on a German bullion coin you would chose to copy a Britania figure, that’s all.

Marketing, if it was a coin I would have jumped on it with a mintage of 25.000

The Britannia is very pretty, inspired by an ancient goddes, or copied

I agree @vanderPoot Britannia’s image is very striking, and I have no doubt it was originally inspired or even copied from another Britannia image from somewhere else.

I agree that the design isn't as refined as our Britannia but it's only the first release for the mint and I do like the design so I'll cut them some slack.

I'd be in the market for some so I signed up for their newsletter on their website and was a bit surprised to see a Polish postal address.

Brittania with trident and all can't be that old. Quite modernish and a copy of a Roman goddess for sure.

Yeah, based on goddesses like Athena, that's why I put up a picture of Athena.

Obviously it's hellenistic.
