Help identifying worn hallmarks

Hello. I'm new here but wondered if I could ask for some advice. I have a trophy by Elkington & Co which I would like to find out more about but am struggling to work out the date hallmark. It is a 'Z' but I can't tell what shape it is in? I have attached photos of all its marks. Can anybody help?

Well, it is very hard to see for sure!

Certainly Elkinton and Co. Here is an interesting page about them: http://www.silvercollection.it/elkington.html

As to the date letter - very hard to tell for sure.

What we know, the letter Z. It looks large as well and the square is pretty much square, no major visible indents.

As we cannot clearly see the assay office, it is going to be most likely between Birmingham and London based on what we know about Elkington.

London date letters are:

I cannot see a big "Z" in there that would match.

But with Birmingham we see "Z"'s from 1949, 1924, 1899, 1874, 1848 etc

birmingham hallmarks on silver gold and platinum

The one that looks most like it to me is the 1848 with the big Z in the large square.

Not definitive but that is my best guess!

Thank you very much. The assay office mark looks like an anchor close up. The date mark for 1848 certainly looks closest. Would this be described as a 'trophy' or something else? It is engraved as a trophy but I can't find anything like it when searching?

The anchor is indeed the Birmingham assay mark.

Certainly looks trophy like!
