1oz Gold Britannia Bar

Anyone seen or heard about these?  I dont see anything on the royal mint website.  Apparently its the first year for the Britannia bar.  Collectors value maybe?  What are your thoughts?

I like it, and will probably get one.  I see it's listed other places as well such as APMEX.  It is not unusual however...these other dealers have had the Queen's Beasts bullion coins, the oriental border Britannia, and the two dragons coins in some cases weeks before they were listed on Royal Mint bullion.  I'm sure we'll see it listed there soon.

I had not seen these.  Personally I prefer bullion coins but will see what they look like when they are released.

Its nice, I suspect it will be priced as a premium bar.  I do like the look of it😀

The premiums aren't that bad.  In the link above you can see the pricing.  Currently $32 over spot which is about a 3% premium.  Looks like its being treated as a generic bullion bar.

Royal Mint can be way behind other vendors. The RMBullion site still isn't listing fractional platinum for example

At that premium, if you are in the market for 1oz, seems a good idea to buy one in case future collector value.  Odd that the mint isn't selling themselves or seemingly available anywhere else?

Did anyone ever get any of these? I quite like them, i think they are thinner than most 1oz bars and coins which makes them look quite big in appearance. Just wondered what anyone’s thoughts are on these who owns one?

Don’t own one @AuricGoldfinger but they look great in person. Beautiful bars, and I’m not sure if it’s the design or not but they do look bigger than others.

Thats the one thing that puts me off bars! But i do like these and fancy something different, i like the fact they seem to have a bigger diameter than most. They probably do capsules for them 😊
