Mint Packaging, or Supplier Packaging?

Hi All,

Quick query- I received a couple of st helena trade dollars last month from Atkinsons, it is the first time I have ever had silver from them.

Can I ask, is the bag mint packaging, or is it something the big bullion dealers do their end?

I'm just intrigued really, I have another in a bare capsule so have that to play with / look at, so will prob leave these in the bags anyway.

I cant be sure but I imagine that is supplier packaging. Ive had a few bars/coins come in these bags and almost always they are supplier packaging.

Good question, the group order came just in shrink foil, 20 together in the capsule. So this must be from a distributor rather than the mint.

The way they are packaged could differ from country to country, and from dealer to dealer, one large dealer had a special on where only they sold the Tuvalu Marvel coins in superhero coloured cloth bags.

Thats quite definitive- my first St Helena was through your group buy I think, so if they came to you in different packaging I imagine that this is just from distributers as others have suggested.

That's definitely dealer packaging.  Apmex also packs individual coins in similar labeled bags.

Perhaps they are tamperproof packaging so that they know if something has been opened and so they can check that any returns are real/undamaged.
