I think I saw you buy that goldmick. Nice coin, well done.

I only planned on spending a little but that strategy went out of the window when i saw one dealer with  a few 2002 and 2005 sovereigns. Will post some pics later.

Nice one love both them two coins. Be nice to see pics.

@Goldmick yep make sure you ring Sara to get that cleared up before they are sent to NGC. Sounds like they are still learning but I was very happy with Heritage on my first submission overall (and the insured free delivery to the States is super imo, very reassuring and they charge 20% VAT but that is more than offset by their excellent exchange rate with no fees and no charge for the shipping to or from NGC Sarasota).

I think they did that for coins that were pre 1966 - on the basis they were not modern.  Certainly that is what they did for me when I put in my "questionable" 1911 C sovereign.  Of course I had said to them that it was dodgy and that may have influenced them on the value question.

She also asked me about cleaning/conservation but I thought she said that it was something NGC may raise and what should she say if they did.  I did not realise there was a bit on the form about it.

@Goldmick @PansPurse @Numistacker

Great seeing you guys at the coin fair today!

I went in targeting some cheap as chips old European fractional gold as well as some interesting (and cheap) silver coins.

The gold was picked up for 2% over spot and the dealer wanted the same price for both the slabbed and unslabbed coin so I think I am well up there however you look at it!

Also, 8 Maria Thalers added to the stack - love these coins and at £11 each I think pretty nice prices (one dealer was asking £22 per coin!)

Overall great fun day - even if I did get told off a number of times by security guards for filming, even though I signed in as a videographer at reception and had the organisers blessing!

Hoping to edit together the VLOG and get it out next week!

Why was an MS 66 only +2% @BackyardBullion

Any insight into this, was it a bullion dealer?

It was a bullion dealer - he said he bought it at bullion and was happy to sell it. It is a very common coin too and one that collectors wont really be bothered about.

I will be doing a video on it at some point no doubt.
