Today I Received.....

Something very, very special indeed in today's mail 'drop' (and they survived intact, despite the postie literally dropping the package on the floor right in front of me 😱). 

I recently asked @BackyardBullion if he could make me a poured kilo+ bar and well, one thing led to another, and I ended up with a custom pair! They are truly gorgeous chunky lumps of custom poured and hand-stamped silver. If you were ever thinking about buying or commissioning a piece from him, just get it done. A brilliant process throughout and super accommodating (thank you BYB!).

I also ended up with a couple of the more unusual kilos from his recent multi-mega-kilo haul sale - both nice old school silver bullion bars.

They are fricken nice ! Good commission and wicked implementation of that idea. I'd be jealous but can't imagine owning 1 kilo bars so can admire from afar.

Yes, such small gold coins were in circulation in purses at the time. Here is an example of a 5 Mark Bayern Ludwig II from 1877, an heirloom from my grandfather. Unfortunately, these pieces were soon melted down again, so there are only a few original pieces left on the market, which makes them very expensive. This tiny piece here weighs only about 1.9g. Greetings from Maxe.

Presumably many.  The diameter was increased to 15mm in 1854. 🙂

I saw this set and the seller accepted my offer 🥳, then I noticed he had a 2003 set, how could I not buy my favourite coins?

Another small one…🤔  May not be perfect, but a nice one with the cypher for bullion price. The mark across the top of the horseman is something from the picture it’s not on the coin.. 🤔
