Well for variety’s sake 🙂 I got this 50 sen this week, 1873, so year 6 of the Meiji restoration when Japan moved to milled coins and wrestled with the pros and cons of opening up to the world. Roughly a similar size to a Victorian florin, the photo doesn’t really catch the lustre and gentle iridescent toning, but you can make out the dragon so I’m giving up taking more!

I thought I had received the 3 coin set of 007 coins, proofs. They even then sent out a nice box for them… then they did this? 😕 … cancelling series of coins on a whim. After spend over £80k at the RM they cant even chuck me a free £50-60 tour of the Wales mint which would ultimate result in me spending a few thousand ££.

Have just collected a couple of great engravers new coins in the collection. Waterloo medal. After this Think I am sticking with bullion. 60% of my proof coins I ever received from RM have to be returned. Then you round the risk of not getting a replacement. It’s like russian roulet with your finances depending on RM for good proofs
