Happy with it Daz? Was it bought "unseen" from Atkinsons? If you now have a taste for pre-33 US gold check out the Indian Head designs from 1908 -1916.

Yes really happy with it, it was unseen, the only downside was that I assumed that it was a Philadelphia mint as there was no mention of a mint mark.  I looked up the mintages and there where only 165,420 minted.  However when it arrived it is a San Francisco mint with 457,000 minted.  Still, its a nice weighty coin, does anyone know what grade it is ? I am a noob at the numismatic stuff :)

I have looked at some of the indian heads, though I was slightly put off by the fact that there seem to be a lot of fakes around.

It looks to be fairly rare with 700 survivors. Very few in great condition. Despite this price is not very high. I never understand that. 700 survivors across all graded.

Wear wise, I would agree, however it looks a bit knocked about with blemishes also, so maybe that's the reason it was only given a 58?

Might present to NGC for cross over. They will only slab it if they can improve the grade.

Be very interested to hear the results. Your coin does look better than the majority of shield pcgs au58's I've been watching on eBay recently.

Many thanks for this, I paid £458 for it when spot was £846, so it worked out at about 12% over spot.

To be honest, if I had waited til now, they would have been even cheaper for me as the gbp slumped further against the yen. I am a rabid buyer of any uk stuff priced in gbp as the yen/gbp rate is very very much in my favour. I bought these two for 50,000 yen thereabouts June 13th. Today I could buy them for 45,000 yen thereabouts (and I have ;) been fyi) That's a 37 quid difference in gbp - 315-37 = ? if you were buying in gbp to give you some idea of what happened in yen terms re its purchasing power shift against the gbp over this month.

Right now I know so many people who are taking advantage of the exchange rates to online shop in the UK from abroad. Best Xmas sale ever !

Seeing as its my first "proper" camera i don't really have enough experience to compare it against something else, but its bloody brilliant! The 11fps shooting is like a machine gun, and the focus is just incredible. Overall the specs are pretty fantastic and i expect it'll last me many years

I will say that i picked it up with the kit lens for 809, compared to retail 1100. Shipped it from hong kong via e-infin.com, i would highly recommend them. Though with brexit its no longer quite the deal because of exchange rate.

I'm just trying to decide on a nice (not too expensive) marco lens for coin shots!
