Today I Received.....

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

These two 90’s beauties arrived today. Won a pair of proof Sovereign’s at a recent live auction held in Edinburgh. Unusual auction in that most of lots on offer were either vintage train sets or porno magazine collections (I kid you not). Bidders appeared more interested in job lots containing 1970’s & 80’s Razzle, Mayfair and Penthouse for 200 quid rather than picking up nice proof gold going for way less than any main coin dealer. Only 2 bidders for the coins. Bizarre world we live in.

Should send them to @GoldDiggerDave for grading.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

They most certainly will be sent to G.D.Dave. It'd be a crime not to.  1996 PF70's are achieving £1000+ recently on Coin Cabinet auctions and I suspect the same for 1994. Prices for perfect 70's are accelerating for 90's proofs. Many of the mintages are miniscule.

I suspect you might lack the context to understand what I was talking about.  Pretty sure @GoldDiggerDave (or any of the NBS regulars for that matter) will know what I mean.
