Received a nice eBay win of a Silver £5 Crown this morning- lovely design this one commemorating Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday 😃
And after an indirect journey to me via one or two different Royal Mail delivery offices I received my SOTD which looks to be a nice example 👍

Nice coins Rich, I don’t want to be that guy but would you not say there’s something odd going on with the inner rim specifically here

Well that’s knackered my quick flip Mat 😂

Seriously though, there’s nothing perfect in this world- its near enough for my tired old eyes- it looks lovely in hand.

I think if it goes to be graded it’ll do ok, clearly whatever is going on isn’t post production.

I’ve seen coins with obvious imperfections get a 70 grade- I’ve owned several; and I own coins that have a 69 grade that look perfect to me- and several I have owned I have cracked and resubmitted that have come back 70 after previously being designated a 69 🤷‍♂️

Just trying to avoid you disappointment later on in case you didn’t notice 🙂🤷‍♀️ If there was no other issue with the coin I’m sure ngc would consider this a production flaw anyway and it would still be a 70.

Received this Jubilee 50p in my change today- I believe the RM dropped them into circulation only 11 days ago- this poor example looks like it’s been circulating for several years!

Must have taken similar care when packaging and distributing as they do with the 1 oz silver Britannia

I love cast gold. Great pick up 👌🏽

Thank you. Originally I thought it will come loose in a jiffy bag and I'll be able to play with the piece, now I have to decide to remove it or not from the blister pack

Disappointment with the size of your 50g gold ingot is a good problem to have. It's stunning!

Thank you, indeed is a good problem to have.

Comparing silver to platinum…. And platinum to platinum. @BackyardBullion eat ya’ heart out ;) … in saying that they must behave made something bigger than the 3oz platinum?

2oz & 10oz silver…

1oz to 3oz platinum…

The 3oz is definately a special chunk!
It’s also too heavy to stay up in the case with the magnetic attachment at 45 deg alone cos’ it’s too heavy. Clearly this was over looked by the U.K. mint 🤔 … I have propped it up in picture on back inside of case to get picture. ;)

Compared to the silver coin, those platinum proofs seem to have a bit of iridescence both in the fields and frosting. Is that true? They look gorgeous nonetheless.

I said it in another thread and I’ll say it again - I think that 1 Oz platinum proof is the Coin of the Jubilee Year.
