Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

:o WTF, why couldnt they have taken it from the back of the bar where it wouldnt be so noticable, or drill a small hole in it that could be filled with silver, I wouldnt let those butchers touch anything of mine.

Yeah sadly they do this a LOT. Completely ruined two gorgeous Portugal Escudo coins. Would have been worth £100 each if they hadn’t acid tested.. however I get to pick up cheap Silver often enough won’t complain ?

Ahh so you buy them like this, they dont do it to stuff you already own then, that aint too bad if thats the case as you know what you are getting then.

No it is definitely a proof, I have the cupronickel version already so can compare, the picture is poor and the coin has been handled quite a bit but the coin shows frosting etc, I've already done the magnet test and the weighed the coin.

Good stuff - I can see the proofiness in the new pics.

I have an original kicking around somewhere in mint condition (the cupro one) and it does not look anything like that silver one, in colour or quality, very nice coin didnt realise they ever made a silver version, now my wife has a sterling silver necklace frame with one of the cupro coins in kicking around somewhere.
