Nearer release day, I decided to also have a go at a 4 Coin Set, but having got stuck in the queue-it system on the RM website until 9.40am- way after the sets had sold out, I would like to thank  @SilverMike for his kindness and buying this beautiful 4 Coin Set on my behalf 😃

Ps the bit of capsule that's chipped wasn't inside the box so it was packed that way.

Are you sure the capsule is chipped?

Having had a closer look at mine, I think they're injection moulded on a frame and that bit looks like where the lid would have been broken off or cut from the sprue. All of my capsules have slightly rough rectangular areas on the side like that, as that's where the gate is that would allow the material to flow into it. As the material is quite brittle, you'd expect to see white colouring in those areas and it's even visible from the front in some cases (no pun intended).

This was the Royal Mint's third silver proof decimal set and, other than an attractive but otherwise uninspiring Maundy quartet, it contains precisely zero coins of great interest other than to a numismatic Denis Norden. The Monty Python £5 coin is also included

The mintage was an underwhelming 6,394.

Just another ✔️ off the ongoing collection of silver sets.

Happily, the condition of both the coins and the  blue "leatherette" (crushed velvet RIP) box is magnificent.

Although it's a good excuse to buy a load more milkspotted silver and then have a chat with our famous @BackyardBullion and get him to custom make you one of his pieces with it. I did just that earlier in the year. Obviously that piece is one for the private collection, not to be sold if at all possible.

This bull doesnt mind milk spots as it used to come out ex Mrs Bullyuns teets anyway, all the time she was either lactating or spouting drivel, either way twas a mess. Send it me instead. Problem solved and I will look after it.

It not so much that it doesn't milk spot ,but more the fact that it's not as heavily polished so less noticeable if at all.

And then there were 5. The quintuple is a stunner, the pic doesn’t do it justice. Will get these graded and into my long term collection. I have a few Ghanaian coins on the way from a couple of auctions but apart from that its pencils down for gold for a while (well, until the SOTD 😏)

An arm, a leg, and my left jewel 🍒.  😆  Yes, it was pricey.  I didn't go into the shop looking to buy one.  It was an impulse buy as soon as I saw it.  Every now and then I think what was I thinking paying that much for a little gold coin, but then I just look at it for a bit, and I feel just fine afterwards.  😊

Stopped by the LCS today to take advantage of the dip in spot today and buy some gold.  Some 2022 Brits  were delivered while I was there so I picked up one of those.  This is the first Britannia I've bought (gold or silver) with the new security features on them.  I think the last ones I bought had the rays on them.  This design really is stunning.

My dealer knows I like old, large silver coins from Europe, so he pulled out an 1891 Crown he was saving for me as soon as he saw me walking up.

That's just an absolute stunning coin. Never was a fan of GM, but they got me with this one. For sure on my 2021 top ten list.
