The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. Most recent Ancient Roman Solidus Gold coin I purchased. The obverse depicts Theodosius II Emperor from 408 to 450 AD. Legend reads A. D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG, helmeted, pearl-diademed and cuirassed bust facing slightly to right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman.

The reverse shows Constantine (The Great), Roman Emperor from 306 to337 AD seated facing, head to right, holding scepter and Victory on globe, and resting foot on prow; star in left field, CONOB (Constantinople) in exergue. A splendid piece added to my Ancient Roman Gold coin collection.

Do you know what the W&R-410 one is all about?

The W&R is probably referring to a variety documented in Wilson & Rasmussen’s reference book - English Pattern Trial and Proof Coins in Gold 1547-1976.

The SA maybe is referring to a satin finish, but not 100% sure.

Niche stuff anyway!

I think this is possibly the nicest coin I have seen.
To see Constantine so clearly is wonderful. 🌞

A coin is not only a store of value but a store of beauty.

Indeed wonderful but I think I outdid myself with that one. Any coin I purchase from now on just may not cut the mustard.

I'm ruined. I might as well start all over again lol. 🙂
