Agpanda reacted to RH5280 in Hi all from the Mile High City!
Hi to everyone across the pond ! I live in Denver, Colorado and have been stacking a few years. I joined here about 2 years ago and kind of forgot about it. I spent 3 years in the USAF stationed at RAF Alconbury from 81-84, was a great time and I fell in love with your country. Looking forward to popping in occasionally and participating more. Wishing you all a very happy holiday season !! If you have any questions about the metal situation, etc. over here feel free to ask and I will answer or try to point you in the right direction. Thanks again for having me here and making my time I spent there truly memorable !

From today's London Coin Fair - seemed busier than usual. People trading in their fiat for proper money I guess.

Thanks to @arphethean for this beauty, a pleasure to deal with you. My first slabbed 5 OZ. If I think about all the OMP, coming from the mint, i can see the benefits of a coffin.

Agpanda reacted to ChrisSilver in Spot price bar (coming back today.....)
If you are not aware of why the spot price bar was not up recently please see this topic:
I am going to go ahead and upload the new updated plugin/application files for the Spot Price bar, the code has been checked by a third party, so it should all be good. So let's hope it doesn't break the forum 🤞.......

Agpanda reacted to danieldorkins in new to the game!
Hi one and all
Have dabbled in silver for several years, by dabbling I mean buying without really knowing what I am doing! now moving into gold with even less of an idea, however I do read a lot and try to learn so all help is very welcome. At this point of time I am drawn to sovereigns but get side tracked easily! thanks for reading.

Agpanda reacted to stefffana in What is a popular coin to collect and complete date runs with?
Because it is fun, keep us busy, we have a clear objective in buying coins we like...
Indeed, sometimes we are paying ridiculous premiums for a rare year or mint, we know exactly that the premium paid will not be ever recovered, but we keep doing this.🤗
The voice I hear is stuttering.
For example, I have already two date runs complete all years and mints for Franklin "Bell" half dollars and now I am building the third one.
Don't ask me why... The voice....
Shussss!

A Tale of Three Certs
Having had 3 of these coins, out of a 17 piece issue limit, I had been intending to show a photo of all 3 certificates together, but we were to busy to chase it up until recently:
I originally thought there was not much point showing the actual coin(s) again, but:
... and the obverse:
I wonder if / when I will get to add a 4th to my "collection".

Agpanda reacted to BackyardBullion in Royal Mint Quality Control Strikes Again - Reverse Frosted 2022 Britannia
So, once again we see coins with obvious marks/damage sailing through "Quality Control"
The hilarious thing is that these coins have been delayed for nearly 3 months! Plenty of time to get things right you would think...
The hilarious thing is that upon first when unboxing I was super excited as they looked really good.
But after filming I noticed the glaringly obvious issues on these coins - I had to go back and refilm the last part of my video!
Really really annoying.
The little ding on the reverse frosted proof - yeah maybe that can be missed.
The giant smear on the back of the regular Britannia? Come on, that is just not acceptable.
The level of quality control (or lack thereof) is so stark that the Royal Mint cannot seem to even print out an invoice.
Yes, printers have issues sometimes, but the person packaging the box thought it was acceptable to put the invoice like this!

Agpanda reacted to PattGarrett in Hello from Sweden
I signed up to the forum for a couple of days ago in the hope to gain some knowledge on stacking and possibly make some purchases along the way!
After loosing some on crypto I hope to gain some from silver and if I do not gain much I'm sure the silver value won't loose 90% of its value in 5 month.
