Also the image isnt that great, there is a 1 over 5 mark just above the crown text at the bottom of the face.

I presume you did a Google search.
What text did you use?
😎
Of course, I've tried all combinations of "gold", "Isle of man", "Sir Francis Drake", "Golden Hind", "1/5" added dates etc. The only coin I was able to find was the 1 crown coin above. I've even been scrolling through an image search but this coin does not show.

Hi All,
Today I've been given a gold coin and I believe it to be genuine (I may have to do a specific gravity test) but I cannot find any information about the coin at all. I've found \ copper/nickel version of the coin here https://en.ucoin.net/coin/isle_of_man-1-crown-1996/?tid=56372
This coin though appears to be gold and on my scales comes in at 6.23 so within what I would expect for 1/5th crown (assuming a crown is 1oz gold) I have no idea but other than this coin above I cannot find any gold version or any information about it at all so I thought I would see if anyone here knows anything about it.It does appear to be a proof

I try and keep to single sovs. But I would recommend checking doubles especially the two pound proofs that sometimes go for way less then they should for proof coins. They are double sovs, same weight, same size, same value (£2) but they do get overlooked.
Generally though unless its a bargain 1 sovs for me. -
I will repost this here for you
```In cases like this. I only send one email asking the customer services team to provide the postal address of their legal department. and then email the ceo directly.
https://www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-9534Fedex UK CEO is Mr Colin Groves, usually CEO's will not reply directly but they put their 2ic on it and a phone call from someone who can actually sort it usually follows. Be respectful these are very busy people but I have never failed to get a satisfactory resolution when emailing the ceo of a company directly.
100% agree but Brexit did happen, the reason we are here now is because of the government cash grabbing VAT and making it hard for business outside of the UK to do trade. Ask anyone who voted for Brexit, I dont think this is what they was asking the government for.
They asked the government to take back control of borders, law etc.
What we are seeing here is what the government is choosing to do with the regained power. Its their fault, not Brexits!
Needless to say I am with you, I am not happy with how the government has chose to use leaving the EU as an excuse to make trade harder for smaller businesses outside the UK in a effort to boost its own VAT revenue.
Great video BYB
I voted remain (by proxy, enough on that for now but my vote was remain) Then after the vote was in I was all for Brexit, thats how democracy works.
But ...
These VAT issues are not a Brexit issue, this is something our corrupt government has done for us. Removal of the £15 threshold, our government. Forcing external businesses to register for VAT our government.
I think its unfair to put that of the people who voted Brexit but I completely get what your saying this friction-less free trade we was promised is not being provided by our own government. HMRC is just seeing Brexit as a cash grab to line the coffers again. -
Its going to be interesting to see how this all pans out. I didnt buy any silver in 2020 but I am starting to wish I had now.
I think for some people it may herald a move into gold. Unless a loophole is found but I doubt it this time. -
I did that last year and purchased a load of spare 1/4oz queens beasts so I could trade for future ones for the set. Worked out really well, I purchased them at £320 per 1/4oz QB coin
This is really bad for atkinsons, as a trusted dealer I have always relied on them not providing fake/restrike coins. I will certainly be checking everything in more details from now on!
So glad they have gone, I saw and wanted but I've used my investment money already for the month.
