For those at in the U.K. / U.K. timezone who watched gold breach 1900, you are either:
- Shift workers
- Insomniacs
Whatever you are - all the best to you and enjoy while others sleep.

Could it be a bank failure that gold has sniffed out?

I have a pawnbroker who deals in a lot of gold they always pay spot. Atkinsons have paid me 1% over spot in the past. They are paying nearly 5% below that now so always pays to keep an eye on the spread as thats a pretty huge difference

I just had a little look about - going off their web sites. Price for "1oz gold Britannia" SPOT £1918.32

This is a long awaited correction, and for all those bankers who have been up to their manipulating shenanigans for so many years, as well as dodgy governments printing pound notes to make themselves rich and everyone else poor, the chickens would seem to be finally coming home to roost. I'm sure they'll have further tricks up their sleeves though if it goes too far. Probably start another war somewhere.

Has anyone got an overview of what the dealers are paying per sovereign at the moment? I have a contact in Hatton Garden that will always pay spot. When he is not buying there is an alternative that always offers 97%. Either way, that's pretty good at the moment considering the prices a week ago. Not sure about the others (ATS, HGM, Bairds etc.) Is there a 'price' comparison website for what they pay??

There have been periods where gold has been inert, limp, lifeless
- 2014
- 2017 to 2018
Why, against a picture of QE I can’t tell you.
Why the fireworks now? I don’t know. No one really knows, but enjoy.

U.S.A. has ruined its own reserve currency with massive $34.6 trillion debt, $2.5T+ annual budget deficits, weaponizing SWIFT and sanctions are far as eye can see. Non-Western central banks are buying hand over fist. China's allowing its U.S. bonds to mature and roll off without re-buying. Money needs to go somewhere.
Spot on bullion sov @ £448. 1/4oz @ 476.

For me, it is:
- A discipline
- Obviously sane if you look at the macro-economic picture
- Collected by nice people
If the bottom two change then I might stop.
