This seems to be a souvenir proclamation medal when Philip of a Bourbon was proclaimed Prince of Asturias and hereby successor to the throne; similar to the title Prince of Wales for the House of Windsor AKA Sachsen-Coburg. He is now King is Spain (along with his father who retains the title and immunity to avoid corruption trials).

This does not seem to be an officially sanctioned product as it doesn't bear the coat of arms of Asturias but Oviedo (the capital of Asturias). It is possibly just a tourist souvenir and maybe 24K plated.
Before assuming it is gold you should run a specific gravity test or at least divide the mass by the calculated volume for a rough specific weight.

… the initial results and stark consequences of my front-loading, year-to-date, pre-Brexit bullion purchasing strategy, in anticipation of a possible end to the availability of cheap and/or VAT-free silver in the UK.

Most of this was acquired before the original March 29th exit date from the EU. So, pretty good timing … with the benefit of hindsight.
Anyway … as of now, 76 more days (at least) to add to the pile!
Consequences? … Urgent trip to B&Q required, to buy more robust cutting tools for the ‘great unboxing’ that lies ahead!

Further to my video on the Celebration Sovereign (https://youtu.be/XuLccmpjkm4) it appears there IS a difference between the February and November coins after all. The spacing of the ribbing on the mulled edge is wider on the November coin and Narrow on the February coin.

So are Sovs only more sought after due to their heritage and age, as opposed to Brits? Is that the only criteria that separates them?

@CadmiumGreen  That 1/2 oz Walking Liberty is gorgeous.  Do yourself a favor and try to pick up the 1/10 Mercury dime  and the 1/4 Standing Liberty quarter.  The three together make a beautiful set.  I love mine.  I think the U.S. Mint hit a home run in celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the release of these 3 beautiful coins in 1916.

A tremendous “Thank you!” to @ZGrizzlyWord for this beautiful 2016-W 1/2 oz Gold Walking Liberty Half Dollar Centennial. I have been looking at this since since I read one of the recent articles in “Coin World” concerning the US Mint wasn’t authorized to Mint this coin as a commemorative.

Also, from @Lr103, I received a 2010 Gold Sovereign Proof at a great price! @Lr103 has some really great coins and is awesome to work with!

Lastly, had a silver pick up with some 100x 1 gram Silver Bar - Valcambi Silver CombiBar™ (w/Assay)...never know when you may need to pay someone with a pinch o’ silver!
