Under Biden, the economy is going to deteriorate faster than under Trump.

This is the GOLD thread my friend. When you sell GOLD of the CGT-exempt variety, you don't have to declare anything to anybody, zero taxes are due. When you sell BTC to someone you are legally obliged to record that transaction and the P/L in your tax self-assessment, which you have to fill in every year. With GOLD if you are in the same room as me I can just chuck it at you and job done. If we are in the same room and you want to send me BTC you have to pay the gas fees and/or wait longer than the average RMSD delivery time
BTC isn't a currency and it's never been money. If you want MONEY then you buy GOLD and SILVER, everything else is credit or magic internet money
Key point: With BTC you must declare both yourself and your trading partner to HMRC every 12 months and pay CGT or income tax depending on the nature of the transactions. What an absolute nightmare. You rely on the network, on connectivity, that you don't make a mistake and send your coins to Mars or North Korea, and your privacy is totally invaded.

Well, I had the call. 
I will be sharing much more in due course. To quickly summarise for those following. 
Some good things and some good feedback to share.
But, also a little bit of "everthing is fine" in some areas. 
I don't quite know what/how to think about everthing right now, I am still digesting it all. 

£1,689.02 for today's high (so far). Anything above £1,675 tonight will be the third record close in a row this week. The fact it hasn't dropped even back to say £1,650 is encouraging enough.

Hmm I've always fancied Switzerland or Norway, not too hot and not in the EU.

Still going strong!

I firmly believe many small business owners feel the same as me. We may be small but with a typical VAT +Corp tax + employee tax payouts of 100k+ per year (multiplied by millions of business owners) - followed by less jobs available since we are closing down - means the UK is even more doomed. We are (were) the backbone of the economy (around half the jobs I believe).
And to think it was a CONSERVATIVE gov that pushed us out is the most baffling part of it all!

Perhaps we need to start a thread about "thinking of leaving the UK" - where to go, tax good/bad points etc....
 

I had Portugal in mind. There was a Golden Visa programme but they've recently decided to pull it (I don't blame them, as it wasn't fair on the locals). There are other options I'm considering. Cyprus is becoming popular. The Canaries have a great temp all year around. Poland is a very good contender as there are some amazing parts and my other half is Polish - but I am not sure I could stomach the winters. Maybe Spain.... but I hear the heat and poor Wifi get unbearable (first world problems, ha ha! But I do need good Wifi as I'll be semi-retired but always have my finger in pies as my brain never switches off 🤪).
I'm under no illusion that all countries will have their own ridiculous nonsense going on - just like the UK, but by semi-retiring I'll enjoy giving the Government way less money and I may as well be somewhere sunny as it really lifts my spirits (especially after 44 years in Yorkshire and 350 days a year of rain!)
If by some miracle, over the next few years, the UK improves I may stay. But something has really changed in me and, right now, I'm working every day to reduce my belongings to make - whatever I decide - happen. I've a lot of research to do! I don't see the UK improving for at least 10 years - if ever at all. I love the Brits and I'm proud of being a Brit. But this country has become too woke for me.
I know.... More reason to get outta here!
