  1. I am looking forward to the Charles III revision of the Bible, he likes his cheesemakers (Duchy Originals)!
  2. Oh blimey, with all the religions tied up I was going to make a joke about 'one ring to rule them all' but I see there is a Coronation Ring 🤣
  3. Charles is recognised by Israel as a descendant of David - very significant, in Islam (which he's often praised) too. Meanwhile the new Cross of Wales that's going to feature in the Coronation includes fragments of the True Cross (supposed crucifixion cross) given to him as an accession gift by the Pope. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64856842
  4. Best to use distilled water if you can Very good! Was that one of those ultrasonic baths?
  5. Many thanks @stackerp5 but not looking for new! Still looking for a great condition second hand deal, there must be lots people looking to sell either the 400 or 1000 now at a reasonable price
  6. I think they're all worth snapping up (as you can) at the lowest premium possible, in release order. I agree though that the first CIII G&D after the jubilee and memorial may be an opportunity, as some folks will be 'all Sovereigned out' when the time comes. Only time will tell
  7. Looks like either the crown is too tight or Camilla's given him a whack round the back of the head with her broomstick!
  8. I believe it's a small(ish) business that is proudly USA made/assembled, so it simply can't and is not trying to compete with Asian manufacturers. I know another company (producing a completely different kind of scientific product) based in China who import some essential parts from the US because they say the quality is top notch and not replicated. On that note, is there a Chinese/etc version? I've had cause to contact Sigma regarding my unit, and so far their customer service has seemed very honourable That would be interesting! <edit> Weird to see folk posting in this thread (even with photos) of how it tells you NOT to use the device in the manual!

    Slab...over coin

    Some interesting points from 23:22.
  10. Just revisiting this thread after some time, these have done very well indeed after all, haven't they? With the present price of gold I'm kicking myself I didn't pick up subsequent years! Oh, I missed this at the time, I wish I'd seen it! A late many thanks for the kind offer @ShaolinStacker and hope you are well! @Piggybank this thread may be of interest to you (I re-read our PMs about Kooks recently) - it was a good reminder for me about the panda privies
  11. I think I saw a topic by @Paul a day or two ago about the latest @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions where even some of the Jubilees didn't sell (apologies if I have that wrong, happy to be corrected ).
  12. You can't go wrong with either imo (depending on your circumstances, i.e. how many of each you hold). With what's probably coming you need a few Sovs if you're in gold (again all imo). I'm always wary of 1/10ths but even those (a few Kookaburra 30th anniversary) have done me proud and always will as a long-term hold. I haven't checked but I suspect the 1/10th and half Sovs now have an extra premium now the shoeshine boys are buying them (?). They don't come around often if at all (and I can't see any on the horizon) but also look for 'opportunities'. The biggest one for me was was the QB Completer at around £20-£30 more than a Brit when gold was £1330 ish.
  13. I am also sure there are quite a few out there, so it may just be a matter of time at the price you want to pay
  14. I have one. Not really looking to sell at the moment and happy to hold, but you are always welcome to make me an offer if no-one else comes through
  15. DDJ400/DDJ1000 or other similar models, with a valid Rekordbox software key. Accessories a bonus. All in excellent/like new condition only please. Thanks!
  16. It's certainly not the prettiest of bars, and I absolutely understand the disappointment of receiving two bad condition items in your first purchase, even if you expected bullion (which they both are). Metalor are desirable and always popular 1kg bars, I doubt the condition will make much difference at all to the price when and if you sell That said, I've never seen a 'new' one like that, so depending on where you bought it from, if you feel like it no harm in phoning them up and saying it's not the 'new' or even 'as new' bar you were expecting based on their listing photo and description etc, maybe they'll give you a bit of credit or something. Otherwise I'd just accept it as having 'character'
  17. No mate, it's absolutely right that there is no editing allowed, it would be impossible to follow and it's in the rules! I apologise once again for confusing things, I didn't read properly (and wasn't qualified anyway as we' haven't traded yet)! It's a fantastic giveaway you're doing, good luck to all, and I look forward to trading with you myself in the future!
  18. Quite right buddy, I took a third decimal place off because I thought $20.233 looked odd, sorry wasn't trying to cheat! I was just entering for the fun of it as I haven't traded with you yet so couldn't have won anyway Good luck everyone!
  19. After the last few years we've got to have something to look forward to
  20. I would phone them all and ask what the best 'package' they can put together for you, and also what they recommend as best value for CGT-free.
  21. I probably wouldn't risk it again on RM suff, but I bought a few Completers and was nicely surprised that they look almost perfect, worth grading (if there's value uplift, haven't checked) in fact. On the other hand I got some Kook 1/10th anniversary BUNCS and they all missed the same speck of frosting (noticeable without magnification) so obviously it was the die - an odd one from the usually outstanding Perth Mint! I mentioned it to the dealer and they pulled the old 'it's just bullion'. That was their genuine misunderstanding and I'd haggled for a discount, so I wasn't too bothered, and strangely (again) a lot of that issue had problems. The same dealer once excitedly emailed me that a SotD sov was a proof, not realising the difference beween PL/DPL and PF! A really nice person to deal with so I did try to teach them but they wouldn't listen!
  22. Yep, they are cracking! I was in touch with them too, I found them to be particularly clueless and unhelpful (basically as they wouldn't/couldn't export they didn't give a toss, as they were only meant to be for the Indian market).
  23. If they're the same price as Brits, and you are buying anyway, can't really go too far wrong
