I had the same view with gold value vs silver correction (from what I've read anyway - but I'm still new to it all so lacking confidence), so I bought more silver and have been a bit reluctant on gold (for now).
Property-wise the attraction is because when property suffers, gold does well and vice versa so its spreading my risk. All my tenants are thoroughly checked and have guarantors so hopefully the impending storm will go OK 🤞😬

AaaGee reacted to Earthmetal in Damaged 2022 1oz silver Royal Arms from Bullion By Post.
I've been giving this some thought, I know I'm a newbie and you lot all know better but The "it's just bullion and all worth the same" argument is utter tosh in my view (and in Silver Traders view linked above). If that were the case all 1oz silver coins would cost the same, but they don't.
BBP currently have 1oz coins from £28 at the lowest to £56 at the highest.
They also sell "Grade B" 1oz silver "marked, scratched, or tarnished/discoloured. We are happy to offer these coins at a significantly discounted premium".

What something is worth is not simply it's intrinsic value. If it were, people wouldn't pay £40,000 for an old Ford Escort. That's not how things work. If I put a variety of coins on Ebay, all 1oz silver from varying countries and in varying conditions I would get results varying considerably.
This "worth bullion" is cobblers peddled by the so-called 'Royal' Mint in order to excuse sloppy work.

AaaGee got a reaction from TheShinyStuff in How are you currently buying silver?
Just buy 1oz coins randomly. I started stacking/collecting about 6 months ago and got about 30oz of silver brits and a handfull of royal arms. Want some more Royal Arms as basically, i like em. If the price goes obviously high ill just stick with what ive got.

We can do better than that…….”buy silver as a hedge against inflation”……you’ll  end up sleeping in a hedge.

Its hard not to over reach when stacking. Its almost a wierd addiction.
I think im goin to have to hang on a few weeks and see how the land lays.

Mate we are always learning, the blisters bullion sovereigns will be a safe bet.   I grabbed a few more  tubes of 2022 sovereign  to forget about them in the safety deposit box for a decade or so.
The biggest problem now is to be as liquid as you can for the 2023 sovereign I hope it's  a QEII

Mate if you have a 2022 bullion sovereign your have already got a winning ticket as it will carry more premium over the bullion price of any other special year sovereign.
trading it in for a double is far from optimum, don’t get me wrong trade in all your standard sovereigns now for 2022’s even if you take a slight hit in the spread now it’s likely to pay off hand over fist going forward.

How much are you selling the 2022 bullion sovereign for?

secondly never over reach or have a stack bigger than you can comfortably afford to hold, as it can force you into making the wrong decisions.
Imo full sovereigns bullion and proof are normally the more popular option.

You could have bought a 2022 double sovereign from
A while ago, first we had special prices, then we also had free postage.
We sold out last week at the special price.
We did reserve some to sell at our normal price, but for some reason, we are showing as Out of Stock.
You could register your interest, to get an e-mail when back in stock.
We cannot get more from the RM, and are still much cheaper than the competition.
Why would you trade you sovereign in with BbP?
Did you buy it from them?

Sell it on here for £5 less than the cheapest dealer which would currently mean an asking price of £365 delivered, dependant on when you bought it a far smaller loss and potentially even break even
