  1. Put up a wanted thread in the ungraded section.

Follow people who have a history of selling the stuff that interests you.

I think bigmarc sells what you are after.

Do you find the 33% premium reasonable compared to the 22% required to get a 1oz coin?

They are a good deal if you are prepared to put the time in to resell them in small amounts for a profit but if you are hoping to sell them one day as a monster box I think you'd be better off with lower premium stuff.

long-term savings, SHTF insurance, accumulation of intergenerational wealth, and, last but not least, collecting shiny things is fun!

    I'd say no then.

    - best to resell in the short term

-worth spot at best if SHTF

-have to store a big box for decades

    -all the same coins

  3. I haven't bid on any coin cabinet auctions before.

Last time I casually looked to see what was going on and it looked like an auction was ending every minute or two all afternoon but I just looked now and it says they all end at 12pm.

Do all auctions end at the same time and then just have the results revealed one by one or am I reading it wrong?

  4. My ebay got compromised about two years ago (easy to guess password - and hardly used them in over 10 years) and a 2nd paypal account was set up to buy overpriced junk for an address in Derby and clean out my account. Luckily this happened just before payday so only had about £100 in there and I managed to get it all back. Now I keep all my money in a second account and just transfer to my main account when I need to pay for something. You can see why they have to give buyers the benefit of the doubt when it comes to payment disputes though. It was obvious the seller was the scammer because they weren't angry when I told them I didn't order the stuff they "already sent out".

  5. There is one left. I'm interested in how it compares to the one I paid +5% for so please post close ups when you get it. I consider mine well handled/circulated but undamaged (I'm a novice at this). I was hoping it would retain the premium when I eventually have to sell it. ~sighs~

Have just heard back from Atkinsons and the deal is 148 x full sovereigns total 49,040 and 20 x 1/2 oz Britanias total 14,829 grand total 63,869. This equates to 98.5% spot.

If you're buying that kind of volume you can get 1 oz britannias for around spot + 2% from atsbullion when they have them in stock.

You should ask what rate they would give you so you could keep a bar and swap it when they get a bunch in if they are reasonable.

As you're trading gold for gold, spot price shouldn't really matter and so there is no hurry to swap.

Also there is no need to swap more than one bar at a time.

  7. If you were to trade them for a bunch of sovereigns I'd save at least one bar and wait until next year.

2022 is the queen's platinum year and so if they bring out a special coin the premiums will probably go up a lot in the future.

Also if you do a swap now I'd swap for 1oz gold completer bullion coins for the same reason.

  8. I don't have a picture but I just finally received the first gold I ordered. (Ordered and received a few other things since.)

    8 2021 sovs

    1 2020 double sov

    1 2021 gold ounce kangaroo

Worth the wait. They are all like shiny mirrors. Unlike any other bullion I have, especially the double sovereign. It's worth buying at least one double brand new.
