Hmmmm... that is quite tempting.  Would be a bit of a gamble but would it go over £750 if there's other available to BIN at that price?

Yes that's the problem isn't it, too early atm with a number of people likely to put them up with 700ish BIN prices

Probably take a couple months for the early flippers to get their £700 prices out of the way to start moving up

@sovereignsteve me no :P i'm risk adverse

UGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I'm so freaking angry.

Just received the 3 Struck on the day sovereigns here in the US, and of course all of them are damaged. They ship it with no packing materials whatsoever in a flimsy pouch. Boxes all dinged, Coins all scuffed in unscrewed capsules, capsules out of the presentation box. This is so ridiculous. Now I have to ship it back overseas at my expense. They were closed when I tried to call, but I'm guessing they wont have any to replace them with. If they do theyll probably be ones that others have returned. Such BS

I'm so stressed out about it. I really reached deep into the pockets to order these. Had the funds tied up for a few weeks. I have a feeling there wont be any replacements but we'll see. They were also the last items I was awaiting to send with my order to NGC.

That's so sad mate. I really feel for you. I'm soooooo apprehensive about my delivery now. Ugh!

This is one of the reasons I sent my piedfort back..it looked like the staff had a kick about at break time and couldn't find a ball so used my box instead..surely getting the packing right is the easy bit..I feel your frustration

This is the the exact word for word mail I sent the Royal Mint when I had my first confirmation order.

I expect the packing to to be immaculate as well as the coin and the capsules TIGHTLY fastened. Overseas deliveries have to go through more than local. I expect perfection for the money I pay.

My kind regards,

This is the second mail I sent after the second confirmation of order was received.

As per my other current order, I expect the capsule to be TIGHTLY screwed in as overseas deliveries go through more handling than domestic and I expect extreme care and attention to be paid to this for the money being paid.
Sincerely,

and the third of the 3

Again, I expect, now I have made three orders totalling well over £3,000 that all these coins are TIGHTLY screwed in and that they are carefully and quality control checked before packaging and sent out. I do not expect the capsules to come out of their moorings. Please ensure this with all 3 coins.

This is the phrase that got my spidy senses tingling

Please note that we have requested that your products are inspected prior to despatch of your orders.

This suggests to me that either they are using a third party packaging company or at the very least don't have a set up/program whereby capsules, boxing etc are actually "inspected" a final time before they leave the Royal Mint (or wherever they leave from)

Picture the scene. The RM packing department a couple of months ago, a few regular employees along with several rushed-in temp workers, all sat next to a pile of 30,000 Peter Rabbit coin boxes and a load of bubble envelopes.

Unbelievably and without any email notifying me the 5 sov and sotd had been despatched, and these literally walked in the door just now. Incredible.

I took lots of photos for you. All three boxes in immaculate condition. Not a bent corner, tear, rip or any problem. The capsules were all a miniscule amount (like about 3 mm) off being absolutely screwed in but that I expect to happen in transit which is why I sent mails in capitals demanding the capsules etc be given special attention.

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

Really makes me bloody mad that the mint doesn't take such good care of all its customers - ensuring that the coin is perfect, the package is perfect, etc.

My horrible experience with the queens beast unicorn - has made me stop collecting the series and I will never buy anything from the royal mint again. Having it shipped all the way across the pond to find it is a piece of &$@? when I receive it. To add even more salt on the wound - have to pay return shipping and then lose even more money on the US dollar pound conversion.  I'm not one to complain - ???but they need to get their act together.

100% agree. This type of packaging is the minimum level to be expected, not  an email "requested" special level. People are spending some serious moolah and The Royal Mint need a serious rocket up their backside from all their customers.

I really hope people who had to send their coins back get made whole. I don't mean financially. I mean the RM can actually replace the coin with good ones, properly packaged (make sure you request better packaging if they do offer the replacement - don't wait for the coin to arrive back at The RM. mail them ahead of time, so you don't get caught out twice !). Let us all know how it goes.

:)

And I have just sent off a very harshly worded email asking why no emails of despatch had been sent to me for the two items I received on Saturday. How would I have known if they had gone missing or been held ? I would not even known they had been despached ! It is an appalling oversight and have demanded an explanation or I will be speaking to their seniors.

So I've been told my coin has shipped already. However, the status still says "Held" and I never received a dispatch email nor a tracking number.

I've just sent a third message to the RM. It is the second one asking for a tracking number. Their previous reply ignored my request to provide a tracking number. I'm doubtful they've heeded my request to package the coin well.

I can only hope I get this in good condition, if at all. How am I supposed to know if it's lost? I didn't even know it was shipped until I sent a message asking why it was held.

It may well be where we are getting to the point where actual old school physical letters are needed to be sent to The Head of The Royal Mint rather than emails which can be easily robo answered by robo supposed managerial customer service staff ? Don't complain to the customer service managers. Give fair warning that you will complain directly to THEIR boss. And if nothing happens, complain to their boss and so on....I would say The Executive Management as they are responsible for day to day, the Head of which is Adam Lawrence and then work up to The Board of Directors if necessary
