Do yourself a favour and don't.  The quality issues with these coins are approaching 100%.  I managed to get 8 of the Peter Rabbits and had to return every single one due to spotting, scratches and fingerprints.  I doubt the rest of the series will be much different.

Could you clarify which type of the coin series you are referring to ? There were several. Do you mean the 2016 or 2017 or both or the silver proof or coloured proof?

Thank you. :)

Apologies, I meant the Silver Proof Coloured 2017 series.

I find that very interesting regarding spotting as they are sterling silver....925.

A quick search yielded no results online and this is the first time I have read someone claiming (I assume milkspots). Or are you referring to spots but not milk spots ?

I was pretty gutted.  From memory, only two or three were spotted in some way - the rest had more 'man-made' defects. But it was particularly noticeable around the lettering on the Queen's head side.

Check out the thread "The New Peter Rabbit coin sold out?" thread started by BYB on April 3 and I think there are a number of Forum members talking about defective coins being received.

I have the 2017 set on order, but only have the peter rabbit to date - no issues with that coin though. Whether or not they are worth it for the investment I guess that is a gamble. 1st series probably going to always be a better investment but to purchase now you would definitely be paying an extra premium that would negate the investment potential. It's interesting that issues are mentioned on this set, as like @Oldun mentioned, I have  not heard of any issues.

Defective or milk spotting? I am interested only in the latter as it would be unheard of in a 925

I've bought enough Royal Mint silver to know a milkspot when I see one.  As I said, it only affected two or three but the spots were there - whether you choose to believe it's general white detritus or a milkspot, I guess is up to you :)

Checked out the thread and there was only one member with an issue and nobody else. Hardly a massive problem.

That's good to hear.  I never said it was a massive problem only that I thought I recalled members having some spotting issues and sharing them in that thread.
