Help with some old coins & values

BackyardBullion

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I have recently been offered some nice old coins, but as I do not know very much about them and or the market for these coins I thought I would ask for some help from the forum!

If anyone could let me know thoughts on whether they look genuine, I feel they all look genuine but I am no expert!

Any ideas on a fair market value (i.e. what you have or would pay right now for each coin).

Any help would be great!

Ta!

Are they all going to be for sale my friend, once you have a rough idea on a price, il try help out.

So the problem is that neither the seller or me know what we should be charging or buying these coins for. Any idea on prices you would be happy to pay for them? Just to help get a fair price for the seller and a good deal for me the buyer!

I got sold a fake one of the 1562 Elizabeth 1st silver sixpence coin and it looked nothing like yours so I think it's safe to say yours is genuine emoji4.png

Good to know!

The Elizabeth is 1578/7 but fairly common, , the George II has been cleaned and a LIMA, but they are also common, also for the George I SSC, there is one variety of these where the SS is minted over a C in the 1st quadrant but even so the grade is still low, i'd be looking to pay between £75 and £90 for all those 3, the Frenchie i've no idea

Appreciate the feedback my friend!

Hello @BackyardBullion

The foreign coin is Austrian and is meant to be a gold ducat so obviously a fake, some contemporary fakes were made in platinum and some modern ones were cheap tat given away with readers digest, i think this one is a modern copy would be my bet just using the photos

Barney, thank you for the feedback there - i was wondering what the marks were on this coin - and now you mention it I think it could be an acid test that someone has done before.
