This might be a stupid question, in which case forgive me, but why not just sell on bitstamp/kraken?

Hi Pho,

Not a stupid question at all buddy.

Basically, I tried for 2 hours last night to figure out how to sell, and failed miserably.

Any guidance would be hugely appreciated mate.

I assume you have a local bitcoin wallet? what you need to do is basically:
- create an account on bitstamp/kraken
- you'll be able to transfer your bitcoins to that account (you have a unique address that you can send to for your account)
- once they're on your account, you can trade (sell) them through their platform - it's basically the same as selling stocks through an online broker
- your fiat money account on the online platform will be credited, after which you should be able to transfer that to your bank account

At least, that's how it worked a few years ago, I'm assuming nothing changed much :-)
Maybe someone (you trust) that actively uses bitstamp or kraken might be able to help you out and sell your btc for you?
Remember there's always some percentage of your transaction that will go to the broker, make sure you read any online platform's rates and understand how much it will cost you :)
