I'm in contact with someone now for a coin and bullion collection and they say they have been given it as the family member passed away. However £1200 seems cheap when there appears to be 7 oz or more of gold..... plus several cases of coins. They say they are not sure of what it's all worth but 1200 Is what they're after. Seems to good to be true really. Anyone with any sense and a phone just has to Google gold 1 oz value and hey presto.

Found them on gumtree but then found another advert the same so I think one of them may have been a copy/scam. It's now deleted.

Gumtree is pretty bad for scammers

Lots of people with a "passed away" family member offering coins for way below their value, trying to get you to focus on what you're saving rather than what you're spending

Mainly targeting those on 'Benefit Street'

I had a bad experience on Gumtree last year. You were wise to steer clear. There is some proper dodgy stuff out there. My advice would to report any suspect gear to the police "Action Fraud" Dept. If they don't mug you off, there is always the next person..!!

They took 2 years to get back to me to give a statement on something I reported -_-
