New Silver Stacking Android App

StackSmart

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have been writing a new Android app over the last few months. I released it today on the Google Play Store.

It has taken quite a few months to write and it includes the most  popular semi numismatic 1oz coins, their mintages and current value

The app is called the 'Silver Stacking Handbook' and is available on the Google Play Store

Feel free to give me any feedback and I will take note of those for the next release

Thanks for reading this

StackSmart

Hi,

Seems interesting. I usually wouldn't pay for an app but I thought it might help if I listed app functions I would pay £2.99 for.

-keeps track of entire stack in database (exportable as xls via gmail etc)

-monitors ebay to see what coins are being sold for and gives an approximate sale value as well as value by spot.

Good graphics with charts etc showing stacking history.

Live updating spot prices.

Includes common gold coins like sovs/krugs etc

As well as the features in your app.

That I would pay a few quid for.

Good luck

Have a look at my YouTube channel 'stacksmart silver' for a demo. It features sections for most of the 1oz semi numismatic coins and gives a description, mintage and current Ebay sell prices. SS ?

do you mean this video ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLkUV4ToG6I

if so it doesnt really give you a demo just shows the start page .

if im being honest i wouldnt pay for it as it is , i would like to have a go on a working trial first (maybe ad supported) i know its only 3 quid but i wouldnt pay even that for a app that i havent had a go on

a function i would pay for is if it had the sections of each coin with a photo and i could just click on that photo to easily add it to my stack in the app . so if i saw a coin for sale while im out and about i could quickly and easily see what years i already own and  what years i need ..

also when you say the app shows the current ebay prices , are these automatically updated ? or are these just the prices when you wrote the app ?

Hi Daz thanks for the feedback.

The app will be updated on a regular basis with new pricing and features...This app is £3 that is no money...

As stackers we need to begin to invest in our own development and information as a priority.

Let's prioritise being nice to each other and building community rather than critising anyone who is trying to do something different.

Daz I do see your opinion but I belive in a community where we can celebrate our differences and move forward together.

The users who have installed this app have contacted me directly to say it has helped them and that is my main goal.

My second goal is to move to a place where I can help stackers make better choices by youtubing and apping on more of a full time basis and this app is the development of this strategy...

Hope that makes sense.

SS ?

I'm not knocking you mate , best of luck with it

I'm just being honest , I just think at the moment I wouldn't pay for a app (however much it is) that I can't see exactly what use it is to me , and looks like it only gives me information that I can freely access elswhere

Virtually all apps have a free version and a paid version ,  especially when first released and when trying to build a user base . It would be good to have other features in a paid version like the ones others have mentioned above.

At the very least your video needs to show what's behind the front page of the app.

I'm not trying to create any arguments , I'm just saying it as I see it . Everything these days is going towards the freemium  model  I can't blame you for charging for the work you have put in but long term I think it would be a better move as even a free version would also be pushing users to your YouTube channel

Hi SS,

Yes, I agree with the above.

Why don't you release the app free to Silver Forum Premium members?

Building community?

You won't find a better bunch of critics, not to mention experience, knowledge and tips.

You might even gain an 'as recommended by the SF' title
