Suggestion for article

Hi chaps. I've a great idea for a new article:

It discusses many of the issues new members may face.

For example:

I've got 2 grand/3 grand/5 grand/insert random figure to spend on PMs. Aren't I lucky?

Should I buy silver or gold?

Where is the cheapest place to buy silver?

Should I buy coins or bars?

Should I do my own research?

Should I stop being lazy and think for myself?

Should I use the search bar at the top right hand corner of this page?

I'm too important to introduce myself, just answer my question.

Should I contribute to the forum or just be a parasite?

I believe that it could be useful. It would hopefully clean up a lot of the nonsense that I have to trawl through.

Think your being a bit harsh Roy, anythings confusing when you first get involved, most are legit questions and after all this is a silver forum.

From my experience there's nothing worse than arrogant know it alls laughing and mocking newbies questions.

But it's clear some people don't do a search first, or have a bit of a read through the big threads.

And not introducing yourself is a bit rude too, maybe I'm old fashioned.

I am of the same opinion as Danny and agree with the sentiment of the OP. Its just some banter about those not having the courtesy to introduce themselves while posting a topic that has been discussed here many times - fair enough no? No arrogance in that.

That said I do appreciate an opportunity to imagine spending someone elses 5 grand for them every couple of weeks. It never seems to get old. :P

Did the FAQ ever get off the ground?

I agree these "how to spend" and similar questions do get a bit tedious but they do attract answers pretty quickly so they will keep on coming.

Perhaps, instead of answering straight away, the first responder could link to a FAQ or a topic that has asked a similar question?

I'm sure many do but you can search for hours and not really get the info you need. Many will be excited when signing up after reading with a wedge of money burning a hole in their pocket to get the info as quick as possible and get an order placed.

We can all sit here and pretend we were different but judging by the number of established posters here who admit making many buying mistakes in their infancy suggests they too had that same rush of excitement to get their stacking hobby started

+1

Been there, done it, got the t-shirt

Despite all the info I've digested, forum posts read, articles written, youtube vids talking about graphs and analysis, commentators opinions, i could now surmise it into one sentence

Just pop all your fiat debt tokens into UK circulated sovereigns, add to them every month regular and often, rinse and repeat all your working life, you will have a pile of stuff you have bought at the lowest spread and it will more than likely be worth more than what you bought them at.

I wish i had done that from day one now and would be a good few quid better off

Please don't misunderstand me.

I like silver too.

But if you were a newbie and told me you had 5K to spend on PMs, I think Paul's advice is the best I've ever heard.
