For US buyers - an amazing APMEX deal on the 2016 1 oz gold Mexican Libertad Proof, at $1355, cheaper than the bullion 1 oz Libertad which is $1380. Not a bad deal for a proof with half the mintage of the bullion version.

Not much use then. But thanks anyway.

Best Asian takeaway in Warsaw! Look at those prices, cheapest ever?

Unfortunately, they will only deliver within 5KM of Wilanow :(

I bought two, then was refunded as they had put George V coins in the George III placeholder. I was given a £10 voucher off next order for the trouble.

If something appears too good to be true it usually is ;)

Did they only claim to have two in stock? wonder if anyone else was refunded.

Yes obviously too good to be true, no chance of a bullion shop like them getting any quantity of G3 sovs. I would buy every one they had at anything like the price they were being offered.

Not exactly a "deal" deal but Auragentum.de have the 2017 Rwanda Rooster for €1890 for those who missed and still want one.  Cheapest in stock price at the moment.  8 available.

1 hour 10 mins later and 5 have sold so just 3 left.  Seems quite popular.

Looks like they never released the full 100 as goldsilver.be have 2 on pre-order.  They might have started with more but 2 left at the time of this post.

standard sovs are at 3%, veiled head at 4% and £260 would be just under 12.5% so unless they've dropped the premium on shields, they will have been YH G&D. A worrying development, I wonder if they were bought under the mistaken impression they were shields?

There was also 2 young heads up at near £260 a pop before, they went quickly so I am not sure if this is young heads including shields, or if its just young heads with G&D.

In the past the advert clearly said "shieldbacks"

I share your thoughts, I think judging by how fast they sold (up less than a minute), they were bought by someone old school thinking they were shields - perhaps they were shields and now HGM just lumped them together with the later YH sovs? Or perhaps as you say, the lower premium indicates a new listing for G&D YH sovs. The price is expensive if this is the case, bairds sell them for £10 cheaper, Atkinsons sell them for a bit more but include postage.

Well don't buy them then.

I think HGM have been pushing there luck for a while now, i can buy better quality bullion from Chards at a similar price and the coins are always in good condition for £3 more postage.  As for older Sovereigns they are bullion unless they are in good condition full stop.  I will not fall for this feeding frenzy.

HGM are separating out the different monarchs and charging a little bit more for them. Currently have Victoria VH, Edward and George all at higher premium. I wonder if that means they will be in better condition? Or does best value sovereign equate to Elizabeth I sovereign now.
