And MCM will sit on these and loose their butts...

Not really, they will have paid about $20 - 25 each for them. They'll get some mugs to buy them at these prices then they'll slowly reduce the price until they're all gone. If they sell 5 - 10% at these prices, any others will be pure profit.

More follow through on my thesis on wording psychology and colours. At the 70 level, black holder and wording first release is clearly the preferred buy.

So does that really say a NGC designation on a 20 roll of loose coins? How on earth does that work?

Still wouldn't buy it i'm afraid, when they take the piss from the off then i just get really stubborn. The efforts they are going to, too offload and hyperventilate over them just makes me think they aren't worth the trouble........
In Germany no one buys a BMW straight of the production line because people know they could buy the same car 1 year later for 50% less because they are vastly overpriced, this is the same principle. I bought a 2 coin Kook set with only a 1000 mintage for less than this crap

Amen, it's about principle! I'm right there with you...

Not quite following your english there steve.

edit...yes it really does...but graded in the first 30 days after the 70s in various forms etc have gone out....teehee hee...that my friend is called a parabolic top...

theyve seen the popularity of the "first release" name and punched it through creating yet another layer of bullshit grade as a first. This has got algorythm behind their set up written all over it...not even human so everyone is wasting their time complaining...coz the computer doesnt care

This is pure mathematic algorythm imho...they cant lose because the "they" isnt human and doesnt need money

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

Come on now guys - it's not just a roll of 20 fine Krugs.....it's a "certified roll".  That's got to be worth say ...$20 premium on each coin?!

As they on Dragons Den -"I'm out!"   Even for the unslabbed cheapest variant.

For me Krugerrand will be forever GOLD.  End of?.

Now come on, stop trying to confuse me with mathematics and big words. I know I'm only a country bumpkin from the wilds of Yorkshire who learned his English Language down't pit........:P

but @MaxShiraz knew what I was getting at;)

What am i missing with these, some places have them for 80quid per coin, and others 18quid? Coininvest are selling "First batch", but they will just come in a bag like always so who cares? 60quid for some words?

As I suspected.  There was no way Goldsilver was going to be able/will to sell so low.  For some bizarre reason, their site keeps sending me to the /fr version. (odd...had to switch it to English)

I know that the different NGC labels (Early Releases, First Releases, First Day of Issue, First Day of Production) are only marketing rip off tactics or whatever. But it seems that people are willing to pay more for the First Day of Issue or First Day of Production. Someone knows the initial retail price for the First Day of Issue at MCM or Govmint? A shop made a mistake and offered it for same price of First / Early Releases.

It isn't a 1989 or a 2017 proof sov, that is for sure but it is a first from a major recognised mint of its flagship coin. That will put a floor on the price, wherever that is. Everyone is guessing where that is. Neither optimists nor naysayers know for sure and for the price of a good night out or a tank of petrol, people are willing to pay. That is fine. Nobody else's business. If the majority sell, the price goes down. If the majority keep, it goes up. Now then, back to that good night out....I will take that AND the proof happily. Stay balanced :)

What do you guys think about buying a First Day of Issue? I see them go on Ebay for crazy prices at this moment. I would buy one at MCM, but the price is 125 + an extra 39 dollars for shipping to Belgium... Like @Oldun says, it's the first silver issue so i think it has some great potential, but still the buying price incl. shipping is huge...

Still at stupid prices. The mint is playing a clever game keeping an artificial floor on prices, they must be making a fortune. However, at 1m mintage, if they all get struck, the price long term will come down to realistic levels.
