Bargain on ebay or load of junk?

Looks like there might be some 50% silver there, also a vicky yh silver something.

It's the stuff at the top; looks like a proof sovereign and that large coin on the left looks interesting, at that size it might be a £5 sovereign. Also an indian head US coin on the right, might be gold.

All in all, worth a punt at a couple of hundred quid.

On the other hand, the photos are crap so might be a bait listing; the interesting stuff might be fake or plated.

I think someone with a feedback of 181 would know enough to check such things before listing, it's not difficult so I think it's fishy.

Thanks sovereignSteve. I don't think it's bait as that Kew 50p is obviously real but they don't mention it.Surely you would mention that in the description or remove it if you knew about the value of these coins?

What's bugging me more is not knowing rather than not winning! It would be nice to hear that someone on here bought it!

As a matter of interest, how long did you know about the listing in order to look at it closely?

Kew 50p? I've heard about them but wouldn't have spotted it quickly. How much are they worth?

I think I'd have gone for it after just a quick look. With plenty of time, I'm sure there would be enough interest to definitely do so!

I'm a bit suspicious of the 1oz Australian coin in the box at the top.  That font of '1 ounce' appears on some fakes. Also, there is no dollar value.

That buffalo could be a copper round.

The 50p Kew Gardens.  The 2x Jersey 50ps on the each side are worth 50p each.

Top left a crown.

The sov looks like its in a pobjoy mint box.

The junk silver at the bottom looks like there is some 50% and some post 1946.

Those on the bag top right are probably the only 925.

If that's a real full sov then it's worth it but if the silver is fake the sov may be also.  I think you've dodged a fake silver bullet.

Very fishy

Looking at their feedback, I can see they've bought something from thelondoncoincompany in the last 6 months, something from coins4u.27 recently, something from englishcoincompany in the past year

Would someone who has bought from these places really put up a listing not accurately listing the coins? pretending they don't know what a sovereign is.. or were they being ambiguous on purpose to tempt people in and then feign ignorance.

I will let you the good people of the jury decide  B)

Thanks everyone. I only had a short time to investigate because I was at work.

I decided I could risk 160 but no more. A lucky escape indeed.

I've changed my mind I hope no one on here bought it!

Good decision, and you still have your cash for when you do have the time in future.
