Hi, I’m new here and have a spoon I purchased recently but can not locate the sponsors mark anywhere. It’s marked for Edinburgh 2001 but I can’t identify the sponsors mark and wandered if anyone could help please

It’s such an unusual spoon, it has a hammered bowl and stands up on its own due to its design, it would hook on a jar due to its shape as well. I can’t seem to find the sponsors mark anywhere for SC in a oval with indented sides

As pointed out the date is not right. The date of the piece is 2001 925.gif.cec9094790d52dbc62485e0069889923.gif1975-2xxx.gif.3840c46ad34b9e14f9a5e7fb4e1f67cd.gif2001b.gif.7f8f2d5d6698b2ee037778042dc13b0b.gif

The only registered maker's mark SC i can find is the Shimacraft mark. The mark is not quite the same as the one on the spoon. If you search under this name the product made is jewellery so again not what we are looking at. Additionally it would seem Shimacraft traded between 1976 and 1982. Accepting that, the company would not have been in business in 2001 when the piece was hallmarked. So i don't think it is from this company.

The sponsors mark is for SUSAN ELIZABETH CHAPLIN and she had designs made in London and in Edinburgh after studying silversmithing at university in 2008. Thank you for all your help, now for some more research
