International tracked and signed is £8.95 for upto 100g small parcel (Sending max 2 oz)

Is this method the best value? Is package insured just like special delivery in Uk?

Buyer also asking whether I have IBAN. Now I know that is an international bank account number and as far as i’m Aware every full UK current account has one. 

Question is if I’m wanting payment of say £60 from buyer, how does the transaction work eg Euro converted into £s overseas first?

RM tracked and signed is the best bet - but it wont be insured outside of the UK so if it goes missing after it has left it is anyones guess whether you get anything back.

IBAN numbers are just like a regular bank account number - but so that people can send you money from another bank. Conversion rate will depend on your bank usually and often it will be a horrible exchange rate and you might even get charged. 

My advise is to get them to pay you using transferwise. That way they (and you) get the best value and also your bank wont charge you (or them) for an IBAN transfer. 

It is pretty easy to use transferwise but just have a read of all their T&C's i guess.

For nearly £9 thought it would be covered. As a one off transaction and a small one at that, sounds like a lot of hard work and risk (don’t know buyer from Adam)

You could also set up with Revolut. (Slightly) cheaper exchange rates and you can get a euro account into which you can request funds. Otherwise PayPal or banks always bite you with bad exchange rates. 

One thing I am wondering: PayPal insures eBay purchases as long as sent trackable. Would the same apply if someone paid (not F&F) you as otherwise only special arrangements would insure worldwide shipping from the UK

Can you ship it to their local coin dealer ?  Sometimes dealers will act as middle men, someone everyone can basically trust.  If it's something expensive it might be worth doing it that way, essentially agreeing to use a certain coin shop as the go-between.  Most people have a local coin shop that everyone can trust to make the exchange.

Alternatively open a borderless account on Transferwise and give the buyer your IBAN in your virtual Euro account.
