Tubes for 22.5mm Lighthouse caps?

Recommended Posts

So i've filled 10x 48 Lighthouse trays, and want to keep them to pure date runs, previously I was putting some high grade coins in here so they didn't go back into tubes.

Has anyone used tubes to store sovereigns in caps? I'd like to keep these ones in caps but still be able to store them easily.

Hi There,

I plan to store my few sovereigns in an "eBay" 27mm tube. Here is a link:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173131385688

please note i'm not saying thats the best deal, it was the first on i came to. I use one of these to put 0.500 florins in, but when playing around I noticed that the 22.5mm lighthouse capsules which i keep the few sons i own in, fit in there beautifully. I'll try and grab a picture.

Interested to hear any other suggestions too

@boon That looks perfect! How many do they hold? This listing is posted from China, did you use this seller, I'm quite impatient, too impatient to wait more than 3 days for delivery!

it is a nice product, for a cheap thing!

i couldn't tell you how many they hold- as I've not enough capsules let alone sovereigns to find out! however I will measure it if that helps?

As for delivery, it could be worth having a hunt around to see if a UK seller has bought a load and selling them off for a profit, should still only be a few pounds. The wait from china in my experience can be anything from 1 week to 8 weeks!

Just before i buy these, my caps are 28.4mm, same as yours?

A little hunting found me this listing, 10quid for 10 tubes, delivered!, look like same product with "coin safe" on the lid.

Well spotted- they fit in my tube, so must be a loose tolerance, here’s a pic of the size of mine and the box for the capsules. I’d hate for you to buy ten sir and they don’t fit! ☹️

Yea, looks like 28+mm to me :)

99% sure they are exactly the same caps, but mine didn't come in boxes as i bought rolls in batches of 100
